For happiness, less than perfect may be best
They say you can’t be too rich or too thin, but what about too happy?
People who say they are perfectly happy don’t do as well in terms of income, education and civic involvement as their peers who aren’t quite as blissful, according to a new study.
That’s good news, researchers say – the pursuit of happiness has a reasonable finish line.
‘’Most people are happy already, or happy enough,'’ said Ed Diener, a psychology professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. ‘’We don’t want people to think that they need to get rid of every negative emotion from their life.'’
